The event entertainment cost depends on what you hire, how long you need it, where the event is held and what the venue requires. If you’re considering inflatables, a jumping castle may suit a smaller celebration, while a large obstacle course can be a better fit for a busy school or corporate event.
At Monsterball Sydney, we help organisers choose inflatable entertainment around their event plans, available space and budget. Here’s what to consider before requesting a quote.

What Affects Event Entertainment Cost in Sydney?
1. The Type and Size of Inflatable
A themed jumping castle can be a practical choice for a children’s birthday party. For a school sports carnival or corporate events, an obstacle course may suit the activities and audience better.Larger inflatables and multi-section obstacle courses generally cost more than smaller options. For example, the Radical Run Obstacle starts from $620 +GST, while the larger Radical Run Combo starts from $1,900 +GST.
The most expensive option isn’t necessarily the best one. Consider the event’s purpose, the ages of the participants and the space available before deciding.
2. Hire Duration
How long do you need the entertainment? A short birthday party and an all-day school fete have different requirements. Contact us to know our current inflatable price for your preferred hire period before finalising your budget. It’s also worth planning the event schedule in advance. This helps you decide how long the inflatable needs to be available rather than paying for time you don’t need.
3. Delivery, Setup and Site Access
Delivery, setup and pack-down are part of our service, but delivery fees may apply depending on the location, order size and delivery requirements. Certain equipment may also require additional handling.Site access matters, too. Large inflatables can be heavy and bulky, so tell us about gates, steps, uneven ground, parking restrictions and the distance from the unloading area to the setup location.
If an inflatable needs weights because it cannot be pegged into suitable ground, an additional charge may apply. Our terms of charge $50 +GST per inflatable for weights in specified circumstances, such as a bitumen setup or where ground pegging isn’t possible.
Providing accurate venue details early helps us identify potential costs before your booking is confirmed.
4. Power, Water and Operators
Inflatables need continuous power to operate their blowers. Water slides also require a suitable water connection. Before booking, confirm whether your venue has the required power outlet, water access and suitable setup area. If suitable power isn’t available, we can arrange generator hire and operators at an additional cost.
Some inflatables can be self-supervised by nominated supervisors following the safety briefing. Others require a trained operator. For example, our Radical Run requires an operator, currently priced at $90 + GST per hour. Always check the requirements for the specific inflatable you’re considering.
5. The Number of Activities You Need
One inflatable may be enough for a smaller birthday party. A school fete, council events or corporate family day may need several activities to accommodate different age groups and larger crowds. For example, you could plan a jumping castle for younger children and an obstacle course for older participants. Before booking multiple inflatables, consider the available space, expected attendance, queues and supervision requirements.
We can help you compare suitable options once we know more about your event.
How to Budget for Your Sydney Event
You don’t need to choose the biggest attraction to create an enjoyable event. Start with the essentials:- Set your budget: Decide how much you can allocate to entertainment before choosing equipment.
- Confirm your venue: Check the available space, surface, access and power supply.
- Estimate attendance: Consider the number of guests and the age groups attending.
- Choose suitable activities: Match the inflatable to the event rather than selecting one on price alone.
- Allow for additional costs: Check delivery, handling, weights, generator hire and operator requirements.
- Request a detailed quote: Share your event date, address, expected attendance and preferred activities so we can confirm the applicable costs.
Weather should be part of your planning, too. Rain, strong winds and storms can affect whether inflatables can be operated safely. If the forecast looks uncertain, contact our team to discuss your booking and the available options under our weather policy.
